How to create student email IDs
For a college or school, student email IDs should be issued by the institution or its authorized email administrator. Use an institution-owned domain and establish how accounts will be named, secured and managed when enrolment changes.
- Confirm the domain. Use the institution’s current domain and arrange access to its DNS settings.
- Choose an address format. For example, use a student name, roll number, course or batch consistently.
- Prepare and check the roster. Confirm names, unique identifiers and which students are eligible for an account.
- Choose mailbox storage and quantity. Match the plan to expected email use and attachments.
- Create accounts and deliver access securely. Provide each student with their own credentials and a process to change the initial password.
- Set account lifecycle rules. Decide how password resets, suspensions, new admissions and graduating students will be handled.
For hundreds or thousands of accounts, an institution can use its existing education platform’s provisioning tools or work with a managed email provider. SaraBiT supports bulk setup and central administration on the institution’s domain.
Compare the options for your campus
Google Workspace for Education offers a broader set of education and collaboration tools. Eligible institutions can apply for Education Fundamentals, and Google documents CSV and other bulk provisioning methods. If your institution needs Classroom, Drive and Meet, compare that complete suite and confirm eligibility first. SaraBiT focuses on managed email and account administration; it does not replace those tools.
DataMail describes school and college bulk mailboxes through its enterprise platform, XgenPlus. SaraBiT publishes per-account monthly rates across account and storage tiers, so institutions can make an initial budget comparison. Ask providers to confirm mailbox limits, migration, support and any setup charges.
Built for student accounts, not marketing blasts
Bulk student email account creation means provisioning individual institutional mailboxes. It is different from sending promotional campaigns to a student list. Use an institution-approved roster and a secure process for sharing initial access details.
